Michael Chelst
Promise less and deliver more. Those can be empty words when spoken by many of his
competitors, but to Michael, they capture the conviction of his philosophy and embody the essence of how he has excelled throughout his career in the mortgage industry. His professional background includes successful stints with American Mortgage Partners (affiliated with Coldwell Banker) and F&M Mortgage, followed by eight years at Fidelity & Trust, where he climbed the corporate ladder to Branch Manager and Vice President. Regarded as an FHA expert for first-time homebuyers and one of the region’s most knowledgeable lenders, he has originated more than 1,000 loans. Always looking to share his expertise with others, he also teaches a mortgage finance class to real estate professionals through the Professional Development Institute.
Born and raised in Silver Spring, Md. and now living in Bethesda, Michael graduated from Yeshiva University’s Sysyms School of Business with a Bachelor of Science degree before heading to New York University to work on his MBA. He applies his professional philosophy to his personal life (giving more and taking less), working extensively with Habitat for Humanity on various community projects. An accomplished bridge player who’s won a national tournament and a number of regional tournaments, he clearly has a flair for playing the cards he’s dealt--and producing a winning hand.
